| Symantec pcAnywhere 11.5 adds improved performance, accessibility, and security. The manner in which pcAnywhere handles video data has been updated, and so the speed of connections between pcAnywhere 11.5 hosts and remotes is expected to exceed that of any previous release under identical conditions. The refresh speed, or rate at which on-screen video is re-painted, is dramatically improved between pcAnywhere 11.5 remotes and hosts. The AES encryption algorithm is one of the strongest and most current algorithms available; it has become a standard throughout government and financial sectors. pcAnywhere 11.5 adds AES to its already robust collection of security options at key lengths up to 256 bits. pcAnywhere 11.5 utilizes the Symantec Cryptographic Module which has been submitted for FIPS 140-2 Level 1 validation through the U.S. Government s NIST Cryptographic Module Validation Program. NIST s FIPS 140-2 standard details requirements that cryptographic modules must meet to become approved for use in securing sensitive U.S. Government information. pcAnywhere 11.5 will, by default, encrypt all login and password information. This connection (handshake) information is often the most sensitive data passed during a remote control session. To help further thwart malicious activity, pcAnywhere 11.5 allows users to automatically block incoming IP addresses for a length of time after a selected number of failed connection attempts.Host & Remote licensing allows two-way communication, allowing the computer to remotely control, or be remotely controlled by other computers running pcAnywhere. Connections can take place via modem, network, Internet, or direct cable connection.
